Carnivale made us go WILD

On the 8th March 2008 the Wodonga CBD was loud and wild! The Daily Scoop was reportedly the busiest venue with a queue at one point stretching about half way towards High Street! TV crews had trouble getting through the crowd to get access to take some footage of us serving the best ice cream on the Border. With entertainment of all kinds available in High Grove, Stanley Street, and near railway crossing in High Street, thousands of people have taken to the streets of Wodonga CBD after 4PM, and the atmosphere was still great at 11PM when the event was closing.
Stanley Street was filled with many exciting food stalls, and the Wild Bar run by the Council staff. The Indian Tandoori restaurant next to The Daily Scoop was very popular, and apart from the soaring trade inside they also maintained a street stall selling their popular dishes. With many shops on High Street also offering specials and sales it was also a great time for shopping. Other attractions on the streets were buskers, jugglers and the animal show which drew in lots of kids. And at High Grove there were still many sculptures created as part of the "Todos Arte" festival which ran in the weeks preceding the Carnivale.
Now all we have to do is look forward to the next Carnivale - it is going to be hard to beat the fun and excitement of this year's "Carnivale Wild"!
